Marco Vitellaro, MD is staff member since 2000 at the Colorectal Surgery Unit and since 2017 Head of the Hereditary Digestive Tract Tumor Unit at the National Cancer Institute in Milan, Italy. A surgeon with a major interest in the Inherited Tumors of the Intestine, serving the Hereditary Gastrointestinal Tumors Registry. The Registry of National Cancer Institute in Milan, Italy is one of the largest patient registries in Europe for Familial Polyposis and Lynch Syndrome. In 2003, he started the clinical Program for the use of laparoscopic surgery on patients with inherited colorectal cancer syndromes at Milano National Cancer Institute.
This webinar will provide an overview of the characteristics and needs of Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP) patients and highlight the grey zones in their management. Specifically, he will talk about endoscopic surveillance schemes, surgical timing and options. The final aim of this webinar is to share disease-specific knowledge and promote a discussion on major open clinical questions in these rare settings of patients.
