Richarda de Voer is an Associate professor at the Department of Human Genetics at the Radboudumc in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. She is intrigued by the fact that some of us are genetically predisposed to develop cancer at a young age. Her research group gains insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer development in genetically predisposed individuals to improve surveillance, treatment possibilities and outcome. She is member of the Research Council of the Bloom Syndrome association and involved as a task lead and GENTURIS-DITF lead in the Clinical Research Network of the recently started European Rare Disease Research Alliance (ERDERA). In this webinar she will address the current understanding of genetic cancer predisposition in adolescents and young adults.
